With Tim Robbins as the narrator, Ray Bradbury’s internationally recognized novel Fahrenheit 451 describes the future in a bleak, dystopian way.
Guy Montag is a fireman. It is firemen who start fires rather than put out fires in his world, where television rules and literature is disappearing. There are houses where illegal books are hidden, and he is responsible for destroying those houses. He returns each day to his bland life and wife Mildred, who spends all day with her television family, never questioning the destruction his actions produce. He then meets an eccentric young neighbor named Clarisse who introduces him to a past where people didn’t live in fear and a present where people read to see the world instead of watching mindless talk shows. A few days after Mildred attempted suicide and Clarisse suddenly disappeared, Montag began to question his existence and everything he knew. After hiding books in his house, a fireman must flee when his theft is discovered.
